A fully-integrated national multifamily investment, development, and property managementcompany is looking for a Renters Insurance Specialist in its Lynnwood regional office. This position is responsible for coordinating internal and external communication materials while providing customer service support related responsibilities to Greystar communities, residents and the internal resident insurance team. Handles, sorts, and distributes incoming/outgoing mail and emails by priority/non-priority items as directed.
Answers incoming telephone calls, responds to caller questions and needs, takes and delivers complete messages in a timely fashion, and follows up as needed to achieve customer satisfaction.
Prepares documents, letters, resident notices, and other communication materials for internal distribution, ensuring all documentation is spelled-checked and grammatically correct, also is point of contact for questions related to communication.
Acts as a liaison between residents and communities by providing customer service regarding the renter's insurance and compliance requirements for residents.
Enforce placed programs for non-compliant units by applying lease charges to resident ledgers and sending appropriate communication to residents regarding renter's insurance options.
Completes projects, tasks, assignments and other work that is unique to the specific business area (including those requiring special knowledge and or skills), follows department policies and procedures, and meets standards, metrics, and other benchmarks used within the department for evaluating performance and results.
Follows established policies and procedures by monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and operational processes related to area(s) of responsibility violations or infractions to appropriate individual(s).
Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with Company, property, and departmental policies, procedures, and standards by immediately reporting any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, employee/visitor/resident injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to appropriate individual(s).
Identifies areas for improvement and offers suggestions to improve efficiency and productivity.
Keeps abreast of current changes in technology, processes, and standards within the industry and area(s) of responsibility by attending internal and external training classes, research and/or subscribing to the internet or other professional publications, or utilizing other appropriate method(s) to obtain business and professional information, and applies knowledge and practices to area(s) of responsibility.
Incumbents work in an office environment.
Flexible schedule required and must be available to work on weekends as needed.
Incumbents must be able to view computer screens, mobile devices and other electronic equipment, paper reports, and journals for extended periods of time where visual strain may result.
Incumbents must be able to push, pull, lift, carry, or maneuver weights of up to ten (10) pounds independently and twenty-five (25) pounds with assistance.
Rare travel may be required to attend training programs, business meetings, or other situations necessary for the accomplishment of some or all the daily responsibilities of this position.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
High school diploma, GED or related experience and/or training.
Proficiency in customer service and interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with residents, clients, team members, and other business contacts, respond courteously to questions and requests and stay calm when addressing and resolving customer problems.
Demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively to reconcile and process invoices and payments.
Demonstrated proficiency in internet, word processing, spreadsheet, and database management programs to complete required reports.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills preferred.
Ability to operate basic office machines such as copiers, faxes, general office equipment, and multi-line telephone systems.
Employment history that demonstrates the application and usage of administrative, secretarial, or office support skills demonstrating capability of providing administrative and clerical support.
Property management and/or insurance industry experience is highly preferred!
