A fully-integrated national multifamily investment, development, and property management company is looking for a Systems/Network Engineer in its Irving, TX regional office todesign, plan, implementation, optimization, and maintenance of the organizations network and server platform. This includes supporting and monitoring performance to ensure the stability, integrity and efficient operation of network and server systems. This position may also plan and lead small to medium sized Information Technology Projects. Design, build and deploy new server systems, applications, software, operating systems and hardware.
Design, build and deploy system enhancements to existing applications, software, operating systems and hardware.
Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
Propose and create system design models, specifications, diagrams, and charts, to provide support for Network Operations initiatives.
Design, build, deploy and support applications, software, operating systems and hardware to provide for local and wide area network connectivity, including VPN.
Design and perform server, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company's disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
Work with IT team members and decision makers to define business requirements and systems goals to resolve business systems issues.
Integrate servers, including database, e-mail, file / print, and backup servers and their associated software into enterprise systems.
Ensure system connectivity of all servers, shared software, groupware, and other applications.
Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records.
Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.
Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems.
Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.
Conduct research on software and systems products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.
Monitor and test system performance; prepare and deliver system performance statistics and reports.
Perform high level support from the level one support group and IT customers.
Assist on projects with technical issues. These activities include the identification of needs, benefits, and technical strategy. This individual will conduct technical analysis / testing, design and support of operations staff in executing, testing and rolling-out the solutions.
This position deals with a variety of problems and sometimes must decide which answer is best. The question / issues are typically clear, but require determination of which answer (from a few choices) is the best.
Bachelor's degree, advanced technical training, or equivalent experience is required.
MCSE Certification and / or equivalent experience is required.
Ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of work experience.
Employment history that demonstrates experience in planning, design, development, implementation and advanced support of server and network related hardware and software systems, applications, and related security principles in accordance with best practices.
Demonstrated technical knowledge of current software and hardware standards, including Microsoft Operating Systems, Firewalls, TCP/IP, LDAP, KixStart and VBS Scripting, as well as HP and Dell server platforms.
Experience with VMWare, Hyper-V, Azure / Office365, and AWS is strongly preferred.
Understanding of the multifamily management industry, real estate development and construction business is preferred.
Able to work with a minimum amount of direct supervision, be self-motivating and have effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
Must be detail-oriented with above average planning and organizational skills.
Must possess the ability to handle multiple projects with conflicting deadlines simultaneously and function effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Have the ability to interact with all levels of management and staff in a team environment.
