Summary of Position:
The Industry Operations Manager has operational responsibility for delivery of content and programs which support apartment industry operational best practices. Develops content for conferences, networking events, newsletters, property management content on the website and other member communications.
Develop and produce products, services and programs with cooperation of industry Operations committee and other NAA staff as appropriate.
Build content for the NAA website Property Management Best Practices page which will offer many key Operational Best Practices resources and information.
Oversee the logistics of conference workshop selection process, including preparation and dissemination of RFP and rating process. Determine pertinent topics and speakers for sessions and events during NAA meetings.
Assist the SVP of Ops as a staff liaison identifying, tracking and reporting on issues that affect apartment industry operations through the Operations Committee.
Work with Government Affairs in identifying and tracking federal, state and local legislation/regulations that is related to apartment housing operations
Work with Marketing and Communications to provide regular updates to operational topics through regular postings on NAA digital properties such as newsletters and blogs.
Work with NAA Education Institute in identifying and tracking operational trends that could be included in designation program curriculum
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree and 5-10 years of relevant industry experience.
Demonstrated ability to develop products and services for apartment property operations
Interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), excellent time management and organizational skills
Proactive, strategic thinker and problem solver with excellent team building skills
Strong business orientation and ability to make data-driven decisions
Self-directed and able to work independently, with minimal supervision, and exhibit strong project management and analytical and problem-solving skills
Flexibility to travel (including weekends) and work extended hours
Excellent ethics and integrity; professional conduct; ability to deal with people at all levels in the organization; the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and effectively; adhere to deadlines, handle stressful situations with composure and adapt to constant changes; work in a fast-paced environment and handle numerous projects simultaneously; work in a team environment; and work cooperatively with other employees, vendors and clients.
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms. The employee may occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
Work is regularly performed in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
