The position of Benefits Coordinator is a key position within each Regional Office.
This position will serve as the Benefits Coordinator for all employees within the region. The function of this position is to assist the region with information on benefit programs, including Workers Compensation, Leave of Absence, new hire processing and training.
This position will assist with tracking both workers compensation claims and leave of absences. In addition, this position will help with the new hire pre-employment processing, including pre-employment assessments.
Job responsibilities will vary and may include, but are not limited to, the following (these functions:
Assist with processing payroll: approving time, employee new hires, transfers, and termination.
Employee Archive/ File Storage - oversite of process
Assist with employee functions including recognition and events.
Manage all workers compensation claims for site personnel and complete all required documentation along with follow up
Monitor and track employee Leave of Absence process.
Assist with employee benefits enrollment and serve as the regional point of contact.
Assist site managers with pre-employment assessments of new hires.
Will serve as a fill in Certified Training Assistant, assisting the Regional Training Director with New Hire Orientation and other general training.
Must be proficient in the following:
Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Power Point
Internet and email use
Ability to learn new computer programs
Must be flexible with work hours - able to work Monday through Friday during regular business hours; some overtime may be required on an as-needed basis
Must have the ability to travel for meetings, events, etc.
Must have proficiency in verbal/written communications. Must have proficiency in math.
Must have the ability to prioritize duties, exercise good judgment, and use discretion when dealing with confidential matters or information.
Ability to identify any urgent matters or irregularities with reports or documents and notify necessary parties in a timely manner.
Prior experience in a HR assistant / Benefits capacity, working with LOA, workers compensation a plus.
