Job DescriptionThe Global Public Affairs team at Greystar is a fast-paced energetic group focused on strengthening the Greystar reputation and brand. Working alongside our Strategic Marketing team, we drive communications and marketing efforts across all of Greystar s internal and external platforms. We re looking for a smart, entrepreneurial public relations professional to help guide and expand Greystar s external communications efforts with a focus on media coverage, crisis communications, awards, conferences and messaging. This role will play a critical role in managing the firm s external communications strategy, execution, distribution and measurement. You will work closely with senior leaders and business groups to define our communication goals and manage all external communications. Specific Responsibilities Include
Create and execute a strategic communications plan that supports Greystar s long-term brand building and business goals
Serve as a Greystar spokesperson communicating with journalists both on and off the record
Serve as a liaison between Greystar s business leaders and journalists, proactively pitching strategic news to ensure high-quality, accurate and solid coverage
Utilize in depth understanding of and relationships with financial and real estate trade publications to create and execute on the company s media strategy and facilitate media relationships between Greystar leaders and key publications
Manage lean internal Greystar PR team as well as external PR resources in US and globally
Help advance Greystar s business objectives and support local teams through communications in markets around the world, often through identifying and managing third-party PR resources
Partner with other Greystar leaders and departmental groups to ensure PR promotes business goals as well as proactively leveraging initiatives and programs
Act as the author of broad range of written materials including press releases, talking points, media plans, speeches, presentations, advertisements, briefing notes, op eds, thought leadership etc.
Manage all manner of public affairs/relations issues and crisis communications proactively
Serve as an internal liaison with Greystar employees, ensuring appropriate internal communications to supplement external efforts
Act as subject matter expert to support senior leaders for speaking and publicity needs, including media training
Help Greystar expand marketing and communications efforts through new channels, strategies or content formats
Oversee the ongoing management of the Greystar brand identity across the firm s internal and external communicationsEducationCollege degree in marketing or related field, and/or equivalent experience is highly preferred.Qualifications
6+ years of relevant real estate/investment communications experience
Experience serving as a spokesperson for a large corporation
Strong knowledge of and relationships with key business and real estate trade publications
Strong writing skills and passion for communicating nuanced financial topics in creative formats
