A Day in the Life:
As Risk Legal Analyst, you will provide a wide range of legal and contractual support along with customer service to the Risk Management, Asset Engineering, Marketing, Corporate Support Operations, and Transitions teams. While working with those departments, including specifically Vice Presidents, Directors of Facilities, Regional Managers and Business Managers, you will be responsible for performing support on company-wide programs, projects, and initiatives and preparing, examining, analyzing, negotiating, and revising contracts that involve property management services, construction management services, the purchase or sale of goods or services, procurement, consulting services, marketing and other legal instruments used by and relied upon by Alliance Residential in the operation of its business. This role requires an understanding and knowledge of the methods by which Alliance runs its business and the needs of the internal and external clients impacted by these legal instruments. The Risk Legal Analyst will be a key asset to the VP, Risk Management & Corporate Counsel on all legal issues. Attention to detail and strong writing skills are essential to the performance of this position.
What You'll Do:
Oversee company-wide programs relating to Risk Management.
Oversee the preparation and revision of contracts for various Alliance departments.
Oversee proposal planning and administration of contracts.
Implement and oversee Company contract submission, review, and storage policies.
Negotiate terms and conditions.
Work with VP, Risk Management to update templates and create standard language for new agreements.
Analyze and report on specific risks associated with contracts.
Escalate risks to and work with counsel as appropriate during negotiation process.
Track authorizations and correspondence.
Maintain, organize and update detailed files and reports.
Work with internal stakeholders to solicit feedback and approval for business terms.
Provide contract summaries and ensure contract execution in compliance with company policy.
Complete regular reports for Alliance departments and teams as necessary.
Maintain, organize and update files and reports.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Bachelor of Arts degree.
Previous experience in the multi-family industry.
Contracts administration experience.
Familiarity with contract management software.
OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Experience with working with and managing contracts.
Knowledge and understanding of legal requirements in certain contracts.
Excellent software skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Exemplary customer service and excellent communication skills, both in person and over the phone.
Exceptional organization and strategic thinking skills.
Attention to detail, ability to notice errors, and follow-up skills; self-motivating.
Ability to multi-task and change focus quickly to accommodate service needs of Associates and/or clients.
Ability to have flexibility with working schedule based on business and deadline needs.
Ability to work a schedule during normal work hours and that may be other than Monday-Friday, 8-5. Work in excess of 40 hours per week is likely.
Consistent, regular and in-person attendance during regular working hours at the workplace is required.
