Real Estate Transactions and Property Management Operations
Render counsel and legal advice on a myriad of property management issues relating to operations.
Negotiate national real estate agreements, third-party property management agreements and national commercial vendor contracts for multifamily properties.
Manage outside counsel in corporate and property management litigation and federal and state regulatory matters for multifamily properties.
Risk Management Insurance and Regulatory Compliance
Manage the procurement of the national corporate insurance program for all lines of insurance including commercial general liability, EPLI, E&O, property and casualty, workers comp, etc.
Interface with insurance carriers regarding pending litigation, coverage issues and advise company on such.
Maintain records of insurance policies and claims.
Manage the procurement of the national construction and development Builder's Risk and Construction General Liability OCIP insurance program for each new real estate project.
Review contracts for insurance compliance.
Ensure vendor compliance for multifamily properties.
Formulate and implement corporate initiatives, policies, guidelines and programs to identify, control, prevent and mitigate financial and operational risks for multifamily properties and conduct training, as necessary, on such.
Manage corporate policies and safety programs for compliance with federal and state OSHA regulations and local ordinances for multifamily properties.
Manage outside counsel in federal and state class-action litigation and manage the risk management team for federal and state insurance claims relating to multifamily properties.
Monitor operations to ensure on-going compliance with all insurance and legal obligations.
Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school (Preferred).
At least 8 years of experience.
Excellent communicator and influencer.
Experience in and knowledge of risk management and evaluation.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
Strong sense of professional ethics, professional demeanor and team player with high degree of confidentiality.
Proven ability to develop and manage a team of professionals.
