The Senior Director, Enterprise Architecture will focus on the delivery of Greystar's technology vision through standards development, architectural review and approval of internal and vendor-led technology implementations, leading technical design of complex enterprise technology initiatives, and working closely with key business stakeholders to understand needs and challenges and develop strategy for technical solutions. The ideal candidate will bring a consultant mindset and will be able to function both as a senior level individual contributor, as well as a leader to future application development and software integration teams.
Formulates and recommends architectural patterns, policies, and standards based on practical experience and best practices to maximize the value, stability and performance and reduce the complexity of Greystar's technology ecosystem across application, data, middleware, and infrastructure domains.
Lead or support the assessment and evaluation of major new IT design options. Organizes and chairs a scalable architectural review process, including the appropriate technology stakeholders as part of the standard project lifecycle. Produce and manage a body of architectural knowledge, system design, data design, etc.
Serves as technology team leader for select high value digital transformation projects, particularly in areas where Greystar is developing or co-developing with a vendor their own digital assets. This may involve running hands-on proofs of concept in .Net, Java, or another modern OO technology, as well as leading an in-house or outsourced development org.
Provide strategic technology leadership, champion architecture practices, and provide guidance to management on the design and planning of IT systems, phases, always seeking opportunities to standardize, with a strong focus on capacity, recovery, performance, and security needs.
Supports the portfolio governance and project management processes by assisting in prioritization and sequencing of projects, supports project work breakdown activities, helps remove roadblocks, and leads resolution to disagreements related to solution design.
Lead strategic analysis and collaboration efforts related to strategic planning, selection, and implementation of strategy and solutions, including needs such as cloud strategy, infrastructure strategy, and enterprise system replacement.
Working with capacity management and reviewing IT traffic volumes and requirements, identifying trends in traffic flows and levels of service.
