The Workplace research team consistently measures the performance of spaces and proposes data-backed recommendations to help drive optimal experience across a global real estate portfolio. The team focuses on three key areas: 1) staying abreast of workplace-related industry trends, industry research, and academic literature, 2) optimizing existing workplace elements and space types, and 3) working closely with a design team to implement and test innovative new ideas across many office locations.
The Workplace Research Lead will be responsible for prioritizing proposed research projects, creating research project plans, executing appropriate research methods (both qualitative and quantitative), and communicating results to relevant stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have an excellent balance of research, people, and project management skills. Interaction and leadership across functional lines is essential. The candidate will also have a strong background in mixed-method research, workplace design and employee experience.

Responsibilities:
Some specific responsibilities include:
- Act as a research project manager for multiple, concurrent projects (qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-method). Prioritize, schedule, track, and report findings related to this research across all global sites.
- Provide regular research progress updates to management.
- Conduct top priority research independently or collaboratively with a team (dependent on project).
- Support ad-hoc research / learning with staff who are less experienced in research.
- Create and deliver presentations that simply and effectively communicate research findings and recommendations to key workplace teams.
- Collaborate with the Research & Design Strategy team in-person Tues.-Thurs. (and additional days as needed) in the Mountain View office.
- Travel 10%
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 yearsâ™ experience in research and project management in academic and/or industry settings
- Analytical and disciplined approach to work, including the ability to plan months in advance and effectively manage time, prioritize tasks, and work within deadlines with little supervision
- Proficiency in mixed-method research design (including literature review, observational studies, statistical analysis, survey, focus groups, and interviews)
- Knowledge and understanding of office design
- Experience working with cross functional internal/external stakeholders in multiple geographic regions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Bachelorâ™s Degree in architecture, planning, environmental design, statistics, organizational psychology or other related field
Preferred Qualifications:
- A track record of completed mixed-method research projects with findings that have been shared in academic or industry settings (e.g., conferences, industry white papers, peer-reviewed publications, etc.)
- Project management experience
- Proficiency in survey design software, qualitative analysis software, SPSS/Python, Smartsheets
- Experience using data visualization software, e.g., Tableau, PowerBi
- Masterâ™s Degree or Ph.D. in architecture, planning, environmental design, statistics, organizational psychology, industrial design, furniture design, workplace technology design, or other related field

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidateâ™s experience and qualifications.
