The Corporate Accountant reports to the Manager of Corporate Accounting and performs general entry-level and intermediate accounting duties that support the accurate and timely closing of the general ledger; performs accounting for corporate cash, insurance and inter-company accounts; assists other corporate accounting team members in various tasks and projects. Duties and Responsibilities
Prepares and posts journal entries, specifically those related to cash, insurance and inter-company transactions.
Prepares summaries of account reconciliations.
Assists in performing reviews to ensure general ledger account balances are correct in compliance with internal controls and GAAP.
Partners with other corporate accounting team members to successfully complete general accounting projects.
Performs other related duties as assigned to meet the needs of the business.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Financial, or a related field of study required
At least one year of full-time experience in a public or corporate accounting environment required
Preferred Qualifications
CPA license preferred
Experience with a financial software package such as Yardi preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Working knowledge of general accounting and bookkeeping principles and practices (including GAAP)
Skill in working with detailed financial information
Skill and ability to clearly and concisely communicate verbally and in writing
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
Skill in researching information, drawing conclusions and providing recommendations to management

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
